The Divinity School by and large has used Turabian's A Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses, and Dissertations which is largely based upon the Chicago Manual of Style (16th edition). This brief style guide will follow the examples of Turabian's guide. Additional style guides are listed below

Footnotes versus Author-date: Turabian following the Chicago Manual of Style (16th edition) allows authors a choice between using footnotes with bibliographies and text notes with author-date citations. If your professor has a preference, use it. Otherwise, be consistent. Examples are included for both.
